NuruTalk app enables users to make and receive voice calls and SMS to and from other networks.
You can download the NuruTalk app from the Google Play Store for Android devices
and the Apple App Store for iOS devices.
After downloading the app, open the app, click the Sign up and enter your information as requested. The system will send you a verification code via SMS to the number used at signup, ensure you have access to this number. After signing up you will be assigned a NuruTalk number and can use the app freely.
If you have a NuruTalk account and you would like to access/restore your account. Go ahead and click Sign up and enter the same phone number that you had used to
register/signed up with the previous account. A verification code will be sent to the
number. You will not be required to enter your information again. Your account will be restored with the same NuruTalk number and your airtime balance as well.
A NuruTalk number is a unique 12-digit number assigned to you after signing up and the number is officially yours. The number is displayed on the receiving end when you make a call. When someone needs to call you, they should call your NuruTalk number.
You should also use your NuruTalk number as your account number while recharging manually via Mpesa Paybill.
The NuruTalk number is always displayed at the bottom of the More Page in the app.
Ensure you have enough airtime and you are connected to a strong and stable internet connection then simply select the contact on your app’s contacts or directly dial the number by pressing the “Call” button.
There are two options of buying airtime in NuruTalk.
Options 1: Directly from the App.
You can purchase NuruTalk credit from the MPESA recharge option on the App.
Just follow the following steps:
In your App, go to “More” (4 dots in the top right corner).
- Then select Buy Airtime.
- Then select Mpesa Recharge.
- Enter the MPESA Safaricom Number you wish to pay with.
- Select the Amount you want to recharge.
- Click on the checkbox to agree with the Terms and Conditions.
- Finally, click on Submit.
- Few seconds later Safaricom will ask you to enter your MPESA PIN to complete the transaction on your phone.
- You will receive and mpesa message and the airtime will automatically reflect on your NuruTalk account.
Note: If you do not receive a prompt from Safaricom asking you to enter your Mpesa
pin, you can also recharge manually as shown below.
Option 2: Directly via Mpesa menu
You can also purchase NuruTalk credit from your MPESA menu.
- Go to the M-pesa Menu or press *334* on your safaricom line.
- Select Pay Bill.
- Enter Business No. 4025475.
- Enter Account No. 2542062XXXXX, 2542082XXXXX (Where XXXXX is the last 5 digits of your NuruTalk Number).
- Enter the Amount.
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN then send.
- Make sure to confirm that the money goes to NuruNet Communications LTD before you press send.
- You will receive and mpesa message and the airtime will automatically reflect on your NuruTalk account.
Note: We recommend the Online option shown above to minimize mistakes with the
account numbers. Please ensure you input the correct NuruTalk Number as the account
when using this option. If you send the airtime to the wrong account number contact
our customer support as soon as possible for further guidance.
Yes you can recharge using your credit card.
- In your App, go to “More” (4 dots in the top right corner).
- Select Buy Airtime.
- Click “Recharge by Credit Card.”
- Fill in your correct details (Full name, email, NuruTalk number, select the amount).
- Click Top-up to proceed to payment details.
- Select your preferred payment method (Mpesa, Airtel Money, Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, etc.).
- Choose Credit Card(Visa, MasterCard, American Express) and fill in your correct bank details.
- Accept privacy & terms and conditions, then click Proceed.
- Enter the verification code sent by your bank (if required) and click Submit.
- A transaction receipt will be sent to your email, and your airtime will be credited successfully.
- In your App, go to “More” (4 dots in the top right corner).
- Select Sambaza Credit.
- Enter the NuruTalk number of the person you want to transfer the airtime to.
- Enter the amount.
- Click Transfer.
- A confirmation prompt will appear notifying you that the airtime will be deducted from your account click Yes to proceed and No to Cancel.
- If you click yes, The Airtime will be transferred and deducted from your Nurutalk account
Note: You can only transfer airtime to other NuruTalk numbers.
Yes. You need a strong and a stable internet connection with sufficient bandwidth to
make calls. A 4G or Wi-Fi connection with considerable internet speed is generally
recommended.
Ensure you are connected to a strong and stable internet connection, and check if your app is showing a green dot on the call log page, this indicates that the app is online.
You may also want to restart the app or your device. If the issue persist contact our
customer support.
Uploading your ID or passport is required as part of the Know Your Customer (KYC)
regulations set by the Communications Authority of Kenya.
Your call logs are stored only on your device. If you delete/uninstall the app they will be deleted and cannot be retrieved.
Go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, search for NuruTalk, and tap “Update” if a new version is available.
